Union City Turf Department Director Robin Francis is hoping for some drier times this season.
During his annual report to City Council members this week, Francis talked about the issues faced with heavy rain, high winds and storms last year.
With the department tasked with maintaining baseball and softball fields at Graham Park and Elam Stadium, unsettled weather causes issues for playing surfaces and scheduled games.
Francis said unfortunately, the year has not started well with the facilities at Graham Park.(AUDIO)
During heavy rainfall, Francis said Graham Park becomes a victim from the runoff of the Fairground and from the overflowing creek.
