The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has named Andy Holt, of Dresden, as the new Deputy Commissioner.
Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher made the appointment of Holt, who will now succeed the retirement of Jeff Aiken.
Holt currently serves as Assistant Commissioner of Business Development, and will assume his new role next month.
As Deputy Commissioner, Holt will oversee day-to-day operations for the Department of Agriculture, support programs and services, and will collaborate on policy development.
Holt has served four years with the Department of Agriculture, after 10 years of representing Weakley County, and portions of Carroll and Obion County, in the Tennessee State Legislature.
