Multiple charges were issued following an investigation into an assault in Martin.
Martin police reports said 37 year old Octavious Strayhorn, of Martin, was arrested after officers were called to Volunteer Community Hospital on Wednesday morning.
A 43-year old female said Strayhorn had beaten her with his hands and a curtain rod, while also cutting her several times with a pocket knife.
The assault took place at a residence on Lee Street, with the female held against her will for approximately seven hours.
When arriving at the scene of the assault, police reports said officers located Strayhorn, along with the knife and curtain rod inside of a bedroom.
He was taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault, especially aggravated kidnapping and reckless endangerment with use of a deadly weapon or serious injury.
During an arraignment on Thursday in Weakley County General Sessions Court, Strayhorn was given no bond and a preliminary hearing date of November 20th.
