New alderman will be taking their seats following yesterday’s election in Weakley County.
In the City of Martin alderman seats, Celeste Taylor defeating Martin businessman Tony Prince to fill the seat of Alderman Danny Nanney in Ward 1. In Ward 3 newcomer Jacob Crowe defeated incumbent Alderman Randy Edwards.
Dresden had two new members elected to the city board last night. Lyndal Dilday received a seat on the board defeating incumbent Willie Parker. Ralph Cobb and Kenneth Moore retained their spots. Jennifer Schlicht ran unopposed to fill the unexpired term of now county mayor Dale Hutcherson.
In a crowded Greenfield alderman election incumbent Donald Ray High is joined by a former city recorder Randy Potts, Brad Borneman and Ray Ann Ewing.
13,558 Weakley Countians went to the polls and almost set a new record voting they were just a few hundred votes short.
State Senator John Stevens, State Representative Tandy Darby, Congressman David Kustoff and Senator Marsha Blackburn all won their seats.
