Woodrow McKinnis turned in another stellar showing to lead a trio of Union City cross country runners to medal in the Charger Invitational at Martin Westview on Tuesday.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said McKinnis placed 5th in a huge field of 208 runners in the 5K race with a time of 16:57. Teammate Rushdon Howell (18:05) was also among the top finishers, coming in 16th for the Golden Tornadoes.
Ainsley Beard earned a medal for the UC girls, placing 19th among a group of 155 participants. Beard was timed at 23:20.
Andrew Beard just missed out on earning accolades with a 24th-place showing at 18:35. Braydon Chism was 29th (18:47), and Wrigley Harder finished in the middle of the pack with a time of 22:31.
Ainsley Sadler posted a 21st-place showing for the Lady Twisters at 23:25.
There were 34 schools represented in the event.
Union City will participate in the Region 7A-AA meet next Tuesday at Martin Westview.
