The Martin Rotary Club will be observing World Polio Day tomorrow.

Secretary of the Martin Rotary Club Harriette Spiegel spoke about the Club’s efforts.

Rotary International began a program of vaccinating children against polio in 1979, and since 1988 polio cases have been reduced by 99%.

If polio is not eradicated within ten years as many as 200,000 new cases could occur around the world each year, especially in underdeveloped countries.

The Rotary Club will be accepting donations to help the fight against polio. Secretary Spiegel tells us where donation can be made.

You can donate in Martin by sending a check to the club at P.O. Box 432, Martin.
