The Ohio Valley Conference unveiled its “Players to Watch” for the men’s basketball season today as UT Martin newcomers Josué Grullon and Vladimer Salaridze were featured on the list.
Grullon was a NJCAA second team All-American last season at Daytona State College, winning his second straight Citrus Conference championship en route to a NJCAA Tournament appearance.
Salaridze spent the past two seasons at UC Riverside, seeing playing time in 67 games. The 6-7, 230-pound forward helped the Highlanders win a school-record 22 games in 2022-23, going 14-6 in the Big West Conference standings. Last season, he scored a career-best 17 points in only 21 minutes against Long Beach State in the Big West Conference Championship tournament.
Grullon and Salaridze are two of 16 newcomers on the UT Martin roster as the Skyhawks open the Shulman Era on November 4th at Illinois State.
