The opening round of the District 12A tournament went the way of the home team Tuesday night for Westview, defeating the South Fulton Lady Red Devils 10-0.
The Lady Chargers (12-5-1) played well in all phases of the match. Freshman striker Sophie Bowlin found the back of the net just :18 into the game for her first of four goals in the contest. Senior Gryphon Rowland added a score, with Junior Tess Anderson netting one as well. Sophomore Cami Carlson scored two while classmate Cambry Hatler added one. Freshman Rylan Diehl scored the final goal at the 38-minute mark to close out the Lady Red Devils.
With the loss, South Fulton’s season comes to an end.
In the other semi-final, Huntingdon beat McKenzie Tuesday night, 1-0, to advance to face Westview in the tournament championship match.
First touch between the Fillies and Lady Chargers is scheduled for 6:00 pm Thursday night at the Martin Soccer Complex.
