Consumer interest in purchasing an electric vehicle is falling.

The most recent annual survey by Triple-A on electric vehicles indicates only 18-percent of United States adults would be “very likely” or “likely” to buy a new or used EV.

This number is down from 23-percent last year.

The Triple-A survey also cited 63-percent of consumers were “unlikely or very unlikely” to purchase an EV.

Greg Bannon, the Triple-A Director of Automotive Research, said early adopters who wanted an electric vehicle already have one.

The survey stated the lack of interest in all electric was the cost, lack of convenient charging options and range anxiety.
