Martin Middle School claimed the TMSAA State Baseball Championship on Thursday at Drakes Creek Park.
Martin Middle beat Cherokee Middle 6-1 in the semi-final game, and claimed the championship with a 9-1 win over Unicoi County Middle School.
The Chargers pounded out 13 hits in the win, with pitchers Kohen McWherter and Max Mobley holding Unicoi County to only three hits.
For the Chargers, Colin Haskins and Kohen McWherter each had three hits, with Haskins adding five RBI’S.
Graham Simpson and Charles Sutherland also added two hits each in the win.
