MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Participating in the Ohio Valley Conference Golf Championship match play round for the second time in the event’s three-year history, the University of Tennessee at Martin put up a fight today but ultimately fell 4-1 to Tennessee Tech in the semifinals.
The Skyhawks received a victory out of sophomore Luke Caldwell, who bested his counterpart Sean Anderson by a 3Up margin. Jonathan Xoinis was embroiled in a tight decision but fell 1Up to Mark McDearman.
Grant Phillips was defeated 3&2 by Alex Broyles while Jacob Uehlein (4&3 to Jackson Skeen) and Dax Isbell (5&4 to Haden Maxwell) also fell today.
This result wraps up another successful campaign under UT Martin head coach Austin Swafford. The Skyhawks finished in the top-five in seven of their 12 tournaments, including a victory at the Grover Page Classic on Sept. 18-19.
