Board members approved taking money from the Drug Fund to purchase a new patrol car at approximately $46,000. Mayor Mark Maddox said this will help in upgrading Dresden Police cars and will be able to keep the patrol cars longer.
The Board also approved funds to help pay for some downtown improvements and agreed to move general fund money to offset the cost of increased insurance for property, auto and liability.
Meanwhile Dresden city fathers got a chance to meet with city employees,.. some for the first time. Mayor Maddox said he and board members believe it’s important that the board knows its city employees and that employees get to know the board as well. At the meeting Police Chief Brian Chandler introduced his police officers.
Mayor Maddox told Thunderbolt news with different schedules it’s difficult to meet new employees. He also said other departments will have the same opportunity to meet the board and for the board to meet other Dresden employees
