Tennessee Legislature-School Vouchers

The Tennessee Legislature is hoping to wrap up their work in Nashville by the end of the April…. but they still have yet to settle on the subject of education vouchers.

The House and the Senate are still working out their disagreements on  legislation to send public tax dollars to private schools.

Both sides believe that their side is the best version.   Speaker of the House Republican Cameron Sexton said it’s up to the Senate if they’re willing to have any conversation about the House version.

Meanwhile the Lt Governor Randy McNally said that the Senate leadership felt the governor was more comfortable with their version.

The Finance Committees in the House and Senate will be meeting on the cost of vouchers this week.
