Obion County just celebrated their 31st anniversary of 911 service for the community.
Sherri Hanna, the Obion County Emergency Communications Executive Director, told Thunderbolt News the service was much needed in the local area.(AUDIO)
After 911 was passed almost unanimously by a referendum, Ms. Hannah said it took multiple years to establish addresses across the county.(AUDIO)
The county’s 911 service now employees 10 people, and provides direct dispatch for all eight fire departments, the Obion County Rescue Squad, Baptist Ambulance and early activation for the Air Evac Lifeteam.
