First Degree Murder Charges In The Death Of A Greenfield Woman / Sword Involved

Thunderbolt Radio has learned a Greenfield man is behind bars after being charged with First Degree Murder in the death of a woman whom he was living with.

Weakley County Sheriff Terry McDade said 32 year old William Taylor McNeal is lodged in the Detention Center in Dresden and is accused of killing 43 year old Krista Davis.

Sherriff McDade said Davis and McNeal lived together at 211 Poplar Street in Greenfield.   Her body was found on the kitchen floor Saturday with trauma wounds to her face and chest.

Weakley County Medical Investigator Rick Workman said Ms. Davis was found at 10:05am Saturday and her body was sent to Nashville for an autopsy.

Sherriff McDade said William Taylor McNeal is accused of using a sword in the death of  Ms. Davis.

McNeal reportedly left the scene and headed to the Jackson McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport where he was arrested by Madison County deputies while he was trying to purchase a plane ticket.

McNeal and Ms. Davis were not originally from Weakley County.   McNeal will appear this week before General Sessions Judge Tommy Moore.

The Greenfield Police assisted Sheriff’s Deputies with the case.
