If you’re driving on University Street in Martin you may see UT Martin’s Grove Apartments are now just rubble.
The housing units were built in1964 were homes for several thousand students who came to UT M and lived there while getting their degree.
Eighty eight apartments occupied the grounds with the last residents to leave came in May of 2019.
UT Martin’s Bud Grimes said the land will be cleared soon. Plans have not been decided for the property adjacent to the football complex.
Years ago the land was given to the University by local businessman W.H. Lovelace.
Plans to use the space have not been announced.
