Drop in Mississippi River Allows Ferry to Resume Operation

The Hickman-Dorena Ferry is now back in operation.

The ferry resumed operation following a drop in floodwaters on the Mississippi River.

Latest forecasts show the Mississippi River at Hickman at 28.5-feet today, which is 5.5-feet under flood stage.

The Hickman-Dorena Ferry connects KY-1354 at Hickman with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena.

Through October, the last run from the Kentucky side is at 6:15 in the afternoon, with the latest trip from Missouri at 6:30.
