An Obion County Central and UT Martin graduate was a pilot on a Delta emergency flight landing last week in Florida.
Everett-Stewart Regional Airport in Union City reported Delta Airlines Captain Ben Hager was part of a Boeing 757 crew, which suffered a cabin pressurization problem over Jacksonville.
The crew declared an emergency and was forced to return the plane and its 200 passengers back to Orlando, where it started on its flight schedule to Atlanta.
According to Delta, the loss of extra air pressure inside the plane would not allow passengers and crew to breathe well as it moved into higher, thinner air.
Due to the immediate actions of the pilots, Delta said no injuries were reported.
Hager began his aviation career at Everett-Stewart Regional Airport, working as a line serviceman while still in school.
