Obion County High School Graduate Receives Presidential Appointment From U.S. Secretary of Agriculture

An Obion County High School graduate has received an appointment by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Secretary Brooke Rollins announced 24 presidential appointments, which included Kelsey Barnes.

Barnes was appointed as Senior Advisor to the Secretary for Rural Development, Biofuels, and Research, Education and Economics.

She most recently served as the Director of Government Affairs at Farm Journal Foundation, and previously served as Chief of Staff to the Rural Business Cooperative Service at USDA.

The selected appointees were selected to implement President Trump’s America First agenda at the USDA.

Barnes is a 2011 graduate at Obion County Central, and a 2015 agriculture education, leadership and communication graduate at Mississippi State University.
