
United States lawmakers from Tennessee are urging President Donald Trump to approve a disaster declaration.
Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn is leading the delegation push to secure swift approval from President Trump for a major disaster declaration request from Governor Bill Lee.
The request comes after severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred from storms on April 2nd through April 6th.
The Individual Assistance declaration covers 15 counties, which includes Obion and Dyer.
Governor Lee is also requesting Public Assistance for 23 counties that includes Obion, Lake, Gibson, Dyer and Henry.
Support for the Disaster Declaration included 8th District U.S. Congressman David Kustoff and U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty.
