Sisco Says Time Was Right for Retirement as Union City Boys Basketball Coach

After 592 wins and two state championships, Union City boys basketball coach Shane Sisco said the time was right for retirement.

After first beginning his coaching career at Gleason, the 56 year old Sisco transitioned to Union City for 26 years on the hardwood.

Sisco told Thunderbolt News about his decision to take the next step.(AUDIO)

 

During his time at Union City, Sisco’s teams won 20 or more games 20 times, 30 or more wins in three seasons, along with a perfect (37-0) record in 2006.

Sisco said while he was proud of the accomplishments, he quickly attributed the success to his players and coaches.(AUDIO)

 

A search is now ongoing to find the next boys basketball coach for Union City High School.
