Peabody High School Names New Football Coach

Peabody High School has named Tab Vowell as the next head coach of the Golden Tide football program.

Coach Vowell spent ten years as an assistant coach in West Tennessee at Obion Central, JCM, and Liberty Tech.

He served as the defensive coordinator at North Side High School for three years before taking over as head coach from 2009 to 2015. During his tenure with the Indians Coach Vowell had a record of 62-22, captured two region titles, and had two undefeated season.

Since 2016, Coach Vowell has proudly called Peabody home, serving as the Golden Tide’s defensive coordinator.

He helped lead the team to three consecutive state championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Tab Vowell graduated from South Fulton High School in 1989. He also played football and basketball at UT Martin from 1989 to 1993.
