The Martin Fire Department responded to a fire at the Len Haven Motel on Elm Street on Tuesday morning.
Chief Jamie Summers says the fire department was called when heavy smoke was observed coming from the west side of the motel.
Chief Summers says the fire was in the attic area of the building and was possibly caused by wiring.
The motel was evacuated. No injuries were reported, but three apartments suffered substantial damage. Union City Fire also responded to the scene for mutual aid.
