A Dyer County Deputy was reportedly struck by a vehicle Friday evening while on patrol and responding to a crash on Highway 104.
The sheriff’s office says the deputy was airlifted to Regional One Hospital in Memphis. His condition is unknown at this time.
Sheriff Jeff Box said the deputy was doing his duty, serving and protecting the community, when this tragic incident occurred.
The sheriff is requesting prayers for the deputy and his family.
The sheriff’s office says it will release updates as more information becomes available.
