The deadline to get a REAL ID is only a month away.
Beginning May 7th U.S. travelers will be required to have a REAL ID or other acceptable form of identification to board an airplane.
Congress passed the REAL ID Act in 2005 in order to fight terrorism and reduce identity fraud by strengthening the integrity of the drivers license.
Applications for REAL IDs can be made at a Driver Services Center or participating County Clerk offices
