Work is ongoing to restore water to the Midway Community.
Union City’s City Manager Johnny McTurner said almost 7,000-feet of two-inch pipe was brought in from Atwood overnight to help deliver water to residents and businesses.
A ruptured six-inch water main pipe resulted in the loss of water for the community, with the damaged pipe still covered in flood water.
McTurner said Union City Public Works employees, along with assistance from Revell Construction are installing the pipe to a water supply from the City of Martin.
The City Manager said it is hoped that water service will return to the Midway Community sometime tonight.
