
Members of the Obion Fire Department conducted a water rescue Tuesday afternoon on South Highway 51.
Fire Department reports said around 4:15, members responded to an incident involving three individuals whose boat had capsized due to extreme currents.
The Obion Department launched their boat with the exact location of the individuals not known.
Reports said rescuers from Obion Fire located the three victims clinging to trees two miles south of the launch site, and 100-yard into the woods.
The victims were rescued and transported to the roadway, with one of the victims airlifted by Air Evac.
Two of the victims did not require treatment.
Personnel with the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, Obion Police Department, TWRA and Baptist Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
