Obion County’s Stephen Vaden Confirmation Hearing for U.S. Department of Agriculture

Obion County’s Stephen Vaden testified on Tuesday at the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.

Vaden was nominated by President Donald Trump to be the Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture.

Vaden served as General Counsel for the Department of Agriculture during President Trump’s first term in office.

Vaden’s opening statement included coming from a family farm in Obion County that dates back to the early 1800’s.

He also talked about the current state of agriculture that is for the first time dealing with a trade deficit.

Vaden has received strong support from Congressman David Kustoff and all lawmakers from Tennessee for the Deputy Secretary position.
