The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Mississippi River near Hickman.
The warning will remain in effect from Sunday morning until further notice.
At noon on Thursday the stage was at 22.4 feet. The river is forecasted to rise above flood stage Sunday morning and crest at 44 feet. Flood stage is 34 feet.
A flood warning is also in effect for the North Fork Obion River near Martin until further notice.
At 22 feet widespread flooding is occurring in Rives and near Union City. Evacuations may be necessary.
Farm land north of Martin is flooding and equipment and livestock may need to be moved to higher ground.
The river continues to rise to a crest of 22.5 feet. Flood stage is 20 feet.
