Tennessee Highway Patrol Announces Sobriety Roadside Checkpoint for Lake County

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a Sobriety Roadside Safety Checkpoint in Lake County.

On Friday, the Highway Patrol will establish the checkpoint on State Route 78 at the five-mile-marker.

Troopers will be evaluating drivers for signs of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

During the checkpoint, Troopers will also take corrective actions for other violations that are observed.

Tennessee Highway Patrol reports say impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people per year, while causing injuries to over 300,000 annually.
