A Lauderdale County truck driver was injured in a single vehicle accident in Fulton County on Monday morning.

Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports said 53 year old Micheal Goforth, of Henning, was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City after the accident on KY-125.

Goforth was operating a 2025 Kenworth T880, when his tires dropped off the right side of the roadway headed south toward Hickman.

A witness said the truck went into a skid when re-entering the roadway, which caused Goforth to lose control.

Sheriff’s reports said the dump truck then crossed the roadway, struck multiple trees, overturned and struck an embankment.

Goforth had injuries to his head, a hand laceration, and an object lodged in his thigh.

Sheriff Chad Parker said Goforth’s use of a seat belt possibly prevented far serious injuries in the crash.
