Hickman firefighters were called to two fires on Wednesday night, with winds gusting as high as 30 miles per hour.
Fire Chief John Amberg said his department was first paged around 9:00 to a small grass fire in the Brownsville community.
Chief Amberg said the fire appeared to have started by two electric wires on a pole and was quickly contained.
Around 10:00, the Hickman Fire Department was called to south Myron Cory Drive where a kudzu field was on fire.
Chief Amberg said the Cayce Fire Department and Forestry Department were also on the scene due to the size of the fire and gusty winds.
Firefighters were on the scene for almost four hours.
