

Union City Director of Schools Wes Kennedy is excited at the opportunity to see the campus grow.
Union City Council members have approved a Memorandum of Agreement to allow a major upgrade of facilities for the school system.
Plans now call for the building of combination safe room and gymnasium, along with the demolition and rebuilding of the bleachers and press box at War Memorial Stadium.
Following acceptance of the project by the Union City Council, Director Kennedy talked about the safe room construction on the high school campus.(AUDIO)

Due to funding from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, the Union City School System will receive 90-percent funding for the safe room project, with stadium upgrades and gymnasium furnishings provided by the school.
