U.S. Department of Agriculture Resleased Farm Information from Tennessee and Kentucky

The United States Department of Agriculture has released farming statistics for Tennessee and Kentucky.

The latest report showed farming as the No.1 economic impact statewide for Tennessee at approximately $89-billion dollars annually.

The report showed Tennessee with almost 63,000 farms and a total of 10.7 million acres.

The average state farm was 170 acres.

In Kentucky, the annual economic impact of agriculture was listed at $45.6 billion dollars.

Kentucky was reported with 69,400 farms totaling 12.4 million acres.

The average farm size in the Bluegrass State was 179 acres.
