
A call to the Kentucky Bend area for a person with a shotgun resulted in multiple charges being issued against a 54 year old man.
Fulton County Sheriff’s reports said William A. Whitson was taken into custody and charged with second and fourth degree domestic violence assault, unlawful imprisonment and wanton endangerment for discharging a firearm.
On the night of February 28th, Fulton County Sheriff’s officials, along with the assistance from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a call of a suicidal person.
At the scene, officers entered a residence and learned Whitson had assaulted his father and mother, with damaged furniture and three gunshot holes observed in the ceiling.
Police located the shotgun used in the shooting, along with additional shells on the floor.
Sheriff’s reports said the father was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City with multiple injuries, and later sent to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
Whitson was transported to Jackson Purchase Hospital in Mayfield by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, and later taken to the Fulton County Detention Center following his release.
