Troy, Hornbeak and Obion Fire Departments Respond to Smoke Alarm at Obion County Central High School

UPDATE released from the Troy Fire Department:

Troy Fire Department was dispatched via 911 for a smoke alarm call at Obion County Central High Sschool at 1:37 a.m. Saturday morning.

Responding Firefighters noticed heavy smoke upon arrival and requested Mutual Aid from Hornbeak Fire Department and Obion Fire Department.

Troy Fire Chief 4701 made entry into the classroom and extinguished the fire in the right corner of the classroom.

The automatic sprinkler system was activated which helped contain the fire to one area.

The cause of the fire was believed to have started by a over heated appliance.

There is no suspicion at this time pending a investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

No faculty or students were in the school at the time of this incident.

Troy Fire Department is currently on scene at Obion County Central for a business fire.

The fire is contained to one classroom at this time.
