Jackson police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday.
Police reports said officers were dispatched just before 9:30 Thursday morning to the 100 block of Conger Street.
A witness had reported a man lying on the ground beside a vacant residence.
At the scene, police located an individual identified as 25 year old Quenteraqus McKinnie.
An investigation revealed McKinnie had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving measures.
Police are now seeking public help in locating the person, or persons, responsible for the shooting.
