Since Tennessee passed the Education Freedom Act in January there has been a lot of confusion about where the funding for it will come from.

The bill allows Tennessee students to receive $7,000 vouchers that can be applied toward attending a private school. 20,000 scholarships will be available next school year.

Tennessee Senator John Stevens tries to clear up the confusion about where the funding will come from.

Senator Stevens says the limit on scholarships will help avoid over spending by the state and that it is not taking money from public schools.

Senator Stevens Represents Obion, Weakley, Carroll, Gibson, and Henry Counties.
