The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will resume a work zone along the U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge between Wickliffe, KY, and Cairo, IL this Thursday, Feb. 20.
Work was paused in anticipation of back-to-back winter weather events, starting with flooding and followed by snow.
Crews were able to clear the bridge of snow. The contractor is replacing deck railing along the bridge, and the project is estimated to last until about March 1, weather permitting.
