Tennessee Governor Bill Lee presented his proposed budget for the year to the state legislature during the State of the State address last week.
State Senator John Stevens tells us that funding for a new building at UT Martin is included in the budget.
Senator Stevens says as the Vice Chair of the Senate Finance Committee he has to make sure the Governors budget is reasonable.
John Stevens represents District 24, which includes Benton, Carroll, Gibson, Henry, Houston, Obion Stewart, and Weakley Counties.
