Henry County High School has announced that head football coach J.R. Kirby has resigned after being hired just over three weeks ago.
Henry County Schools Superintendent Dr. Leah Watkins confirmed to Thunderbolt Radio that Coach Kirby was returning to Covington High School where he coached and taught.
Coach Kirby was at Covington for six years prior to taking the head coach position in Henry County. Dr. Watkins said Henry County will continue to search for a replacement for Coach James Counce who left to take a position at Rockvale.
