Motorists are urged to use caution as construction continues on turn lanes for the Union City Industrial Park.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation said turn lane construction, on U.S.-51 at Greenfield Drive and North Morgan Street, is for State Industrial Access to serve the headquarters of Williams Sausage.
The work on the turn lanes has resulted in the closure of the inside lane on U.S.-51 to thru traffic.
The cross-over at Greenfield Drive and North Morgan Street is also closed to traffic during construction.
TDOT reports said the work at the Union City site includes a speed reduction from 50 miles-per-hour to 40 miles-per-hour on U.S.-51.
