Kentucky First District Senator Jason Howell has been appointed to a committee by the Senate President.
Howell, who is a graduate of Fulton County High School, was appointed to the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee of the Council of State Governments Southern Office.
Senate President Robert Stivers selected Howell as a policymaker to address agriculture policies, rural economic development and infrastructure challenges.
Senator Howell said he was honored to serve on a committee that helps strengthen the farming industry, shows support for farmers, and helps investment in rural infrastructure.
The West Kentucky Senator will serve a two-year term ending in December of 2026.
