UT Martin’s attempt to have the lawsuit between them and Dr. Paul Blaylock dismissed has been granted in the Weakley County Circuit Court.

Circuit Court Judge Jeff Parham made the ruling after determining the contents of the lawsuit was not meant for his court, but rather the jurisdiction of the claims commission.

Dr. Blaylock, a UT Martin graduate, filed a $15.7 million lawsuit against the university in September, alleging a breach of contract, emotional distress, violation of intellectual property, and defamation libel after plaques he had designed were removed from the Blaylock Inspiration Oracle on campus.

Thunderbolt Radio has learned Dr. Blaylock’s attorneys will file for an appeal.
