Governor Bill Lee’s Education Freedom Act, which would provide scholarships for private schools through the state, passed through the Tennessee House and Senate recently.
Weakley County Schools Board member and legislative liaison Steve Vantrease tells us the voucher program will be going into affect next school year.
Mr. Vantrease says he doesn’t expect the bill to have much of an effect on Weakley County right now.
