Tennessee Senate Passes Education Freedom Act

The Tennessee Senate passed the Education Freedom Act on Thursday with a vote of 20 to 13.

Many senators had arguments against the bill like District 19 Senator Charlane Oliver, who argued against it for rural counties.

District 21 Senator Jeff Yarbro called the bill completely irresponsible and not beneficial for low income families at all.

Senator John Stevens who represents District 24, which includes, Obion, Henry, Carroll, Gibson and Weakley Counties argued for the bill to allow parents to send their children to schools that align with their values.
