The Tennessee House passed the Education Freedom Act on Thursday with a vote of 54 to 44.
State Representative William Lambreth, who represents parts of Sumner County, gave a closing statement before the vote.
Representative Tandy Darby, who represents Weakley, Henry, and Carroll Counties voted against the bill.
