One person has been jailed in the death of a child in Jackson.
Jackson police responded last Wednesday to the 500 block of Old Hickory in reference to an unresponsive child.
Police reports said the child was pronounced deceased at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
An investigation revealed Judon Roberson Jr. was watching the child while the mother ran an errand.
While in Roberson’s care, the child was injured and succumbed to those injuries.
Roberson was charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect, and was issued a bond of half-a-million dollars.
An autopsy was ordered for the child, and additional charges may be pending.
