Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn is a co-sponsor of legislation to support music tourism.
Senator Blackburn, along with John Hickenlooper of Colorado, introduced the American Music Tourism Act to support music tourism for domestic and international visitors.
Senator Blackburn said the Volunteer State offers iconic musical tourist landmarks from Graceland in Memphis to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, along with Dollywood in Pigeon Forge and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol.
The United States currently boasts one of the world’s largest music industries, which generates over $43 billion dollars in revenue each year.
The legislation was supported by many groups including the Recording Academy, Nashville Songwriter’s Association and Tennessee Department of Tourism.
