
The State of Tennessee ended 2024 with a lower unemployment rate compared to the national average.
The Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced Tennessee’s December jobless rate at 3.6-percent.
The national average for the month was recorded at 4.1-percent.
Tennessee did show a slight increase in their year-to-year unemployment rate for December, with the December of 2023 report at 3.4-percent.
During the twelve months of 2024, the Volunteer State had strong reports for jobs, with three consecutive months reporting record low unemployment rates.
